  1. HOW TO INSTALL THE VRX SOFTWARE
  2. -------------------------------

  4. VRX software consists of these three main MultiMedia Toolbook v. 3.0 files:
  5.     VENICE.EXE         Virtual Venice demo
  6.     VRX_A11.EXE        VRX Author
  7.     VRXPLY11.EXE       VRX PlayerVRX

  9. software (and demo images) occupy almost 5 Mb.
  10. To install them, follow these steps:

  13. If you are using the MM Toolbook v. 3.0 runtime
  14.  
  15. - Put the file VRX11.ZIP in the same directory of MM Toolbook v. 3.0 runtime
  16. - Unzip the VRX11.ZIP file keeping the directory structure stored in 
  17.   the compressed file (that is use the syntax PKUNZIP -D VRX11.ZIP)

  20. If you are using the complete MM Toolbook v. 3.0

  22. - Create a directory on your hard disk and put the file inside (i.e. C:\VRX)
  23. - Make sure to have the Multimedia Toolbook directory in your path
  24. - Unzip the VRX11.ZIP file keeping the directory structure stored in 
  25.   the compressed file (that is use the syntax PKUNZIP -D VRX11.ZIP)

  27. We suggest you to start your VRX exploration from the Virtual Venice demo.
  28. To do so, use the Windows File Manager and double click on VENICE.EXE.

  30. The VRX Player is not a stand alone application.
  31. Run first the VRX Author to see the Player in action.
